Two of the Eredivisie's best attacks collide

De Topper is the closest thing Dutch football has to a title decider in October: Feyenoord sit top of the Eredivisie on 23 points from nine games, PSV are third on 19, two points off second. Both sides have been doing their damage in front of goal rather than at the back.

PSV have scored in every one of their last four league outings — 4-1 at home to Sparta Rotterdam, 2-3 away at FC Twente, 2-0 at home to Heerenveen and 1-2 away at ADO Den Haag. That is nine goals for and six against in four games, and three of those four matches finished with three or more goals in total.

Feyenoord's run is even more lopsided: 7-0 away at PEC Zwolle, 5-0 at home to FC Utrecht, 2-0 at home to AZ Alkmaar and 4-3 away at Telstar. Eighteen goals scored, three conceded, and three of those four games produced four or more goals in total.

We have not pulled FBref's shot and xG numbers for either side this run (session budget), and we have not checked the head-to-head history between these two beyond this season's form, so this is built on general scoring trend rather than Tom's full checklist. A derby can also play tighter than the league-wide numbers suggest once the occasion takes over. For those reasons the stake here is cut below Tom's usual level.

With that caveat attached, the goals trend from both sides points the same way, and Kambi have Over 3.5 goals at 1.76 for De Topper — that is where the value sits, backed at a reduced 0.5 units.

No confirmed team news or line-ups for either side at the time of writing, four days out from kick-off. Feyenoord's recent fixtures have come thick and fast with a Champions League trip to Real Betis in between, so some rotation risk exists on both sides; we have not been able to verify it either way.
