Moldova vs Slovakia Prediction and Tips: Corners
Nadia Ferreira looks at the corner counts from Group D2's first three rounds and prices up the total for the Chișinău rematch.
The prediction is at the end of the analysis ↓A corners trend running through Group D2
Group D2 of the Nations League, Moldova, Slovakia, Kazakhstan and the Faroe Islands, has produced corners in bulk through its first three rounds. The five matches played so far have finished with 10, 9, 9, 15 and 12 corners, an average of eleven a game, and every one of Moldova's and Slovakia's own matches has landed in double figures.
Slovakia have been unbeaten and dominant: 2-0 at home to Moldova in the first meeting (17 shots to 8, 7 corners to 3), 2-1 over Kazakhstan, and a 1-1 draw away at the Faroe Islands in which they still had 65.6% of the ball and ten corners of their own. Moldova have been more mixed on results, beaten by Slovakia, a draw with the Faroe Islands, then a 2-1 win away at Kazakhstan, but they have stayed busy in the final third throughout, putting in 22 shots at home to the Faroe Islands and 16 away at Kazakhstan.
That combination, one side that dominates territory and the other that keeps generating its own chances even when behind, is the shape a corners model looks for. Neither side has defended deep enough to strangle a game out this campaign, which is why all three of Moldova's games and all three of Slovakia's games in this group have produced nine corners or more.
We have not been able to confirm either side's starting wide players this far out, and could not find a referee appointment for this match at the time of writing, so there is no read yet on how tightly it will be whistled. Given the sample is three group games each rather than a full season, the stake here is trimmed below the usual level for this market.
At 1.58, the market prices over 8.5 corners at an implied 63.3%. Every one of the five Group D2 matches played this campaign has gone over that mark, and nothing about either side's approach suggests that changes for the rematch in Chișinău. Over 8.5 corners is the pick.

Team news
We could not confirm either side's starting line-up this far out from kick-off, and found no specific wide-player injury news for either squad in the general football press.
Small sample, three group games each, so this is built on a short run rather than a season of data, which is why the stake is cut below our usual corners bet. A cagey, low-event draw that neither side needs to chase is the main way this misses.
Verdict
Over 8.5 corners at 1.58 needs the match to clear a bar every Group D2 fixture has cleared so far this campaign. With Slovakia dominant and Moldova still generating their own chances even under pressure, the total market looks underpriced relative to the pattern, though the sample is short enough to justify a reduced stake.
