Margaux Lindgren

Editor-in-Chief · Word Games · @margaux.l

Founded the magazine in early 2024 after eight years as a games critic on a national daily. Writes the Spelling Bee column, edits everything before it ships, and is the reason this magazine uses the Oxford comma.

Margaux ran the games desk at a national daily for six years before going independent. She started GameTipster after watching a third successive games site get acquired and redirected to selling sportsbook offers; the magazine is her attempt to keep at least one corner of the field staffed by humans who care about the puzzles.

Her review of the Spelling Bee — the puzzle she’s solved every morning for four years — is the longest piece on the site and the one she’s proudest of. She also edits everything else here, which is why the house style guide is so opinionated about gerunds and why nobody else is allowed to write a headline without her seeing it first.
